Followership in today’s world is no longer based on ideologies as it were, the sum up of ideas and plans, political and economic strategy as of principles often used by a leader. Followership has gradually disintegrated into a means for self-help and survival.
To this effect, when the needed benefit as expected is not coming as at when due, the tendency to revolt against people in leadership becomes evident in those who claim to be ardent supporter or followers. This trend of misgivings can be commonly seen in young people around the political and social space and is growing tremendously.
It is important that as young people, we cultivate the spirit of patience and perseverance.
In as much as it is a known fact that some leaders are users who do not reward loyalty, being loyal helps one to build self, a healthy reputation that will be commended by many whom you come across in the future.
The Ideology of a leader also makes him stand the test of time. Relevance are measured by how effective your ideas are and how much of such you are able to express in execution within a time frame. Be it political and or economics, Social and religious, the ability for people to be dependant on your set of opinion and beliefs for a better result makes you for a good ideologist.
Thus, it is good to thrive for greatness as a leader, with a listening ear, a compassionate heart, people investing spirit, and the urge to always push for perfection even in a world where no one nor thing is perfect.
